Tinder Turbulence:
A Date to Forget

In this audio production, I explored the storytelling format to capture a real-life experience of Courtney, a UK student, who shared her account of a disastrous first date after arriving in Australia. The narrative highlights themes of expectation, cultural differences, and awkward social interactions. Through a conversational tone and immersive sound design, the story unfolds from the excitement of preparing for the date to the frustration and discomfort Courtney faced throughout the evening.

I took on multiple roles in this project, including scripting, editing, and voice narration. The audio was crafted with an emphasis on emotional reflection, making the listener empathize with Courtney’s experiences and thoughts before, during, and after the event. This production utilized sound effects and background music to enhance the atmosphere, adding depth to the narrative flow.

This project allowed me to develop my skills in audio storytelling and production, demonstrating my ability to weave engaging narratives through sound, voice, and pacing, while reflecting on interpersonal dynamics and the challenges of modern dating. The final product presents a relatable and entertaining story about navigating social interactions in a new country.
